how long does swim bladder disorder last? i noticed once a little while ago that Max seemed to float up and was struggling to get down but then then next day he was fine. How long does it take for a swim bladder problem to correct itself (if it does)? Simon's only slighly better than he was last Friday- he's not sinking and swimming upside down as much, but now he's just floating on his side at the top of the betta hex. Is there any way to treat SBD? How about a bad case, when the fish is constantly on his side, floating at the top?
And what could be white around the mouth. Or rather… I was asked: if some white “pimples” appear over the top lip, what could it be?
Considering that the fish suffers from what looks like a really bad SBD…

I've just got home and noticed that Che Guevara keeps falling over to one side. I've never had a fish do this before so I've no idea what it might be. He looks good otherwise and seems to have an okay time swimming, it's just when he stops he can't stay upright. I can't really say if he's bloated at all, because he's a pretty big fish. AUGH. Swim bladder disorder...AGAIN. All I did was feed her two pellets last night, because I had been returning from the trip and she didn't get fed much in general.

Is that just how some fish are...? Would it help to break the pellets in half and then feed it to her, or should I do the pellet-soaking-in-water thing now that I'm home?
